✨ Step Outside Your Comfort Zone — You Never Know Who You’ll Meet

“I don’t participate in popups, I host them,” I said with a laugh to the first person who recognized me at the Not Your Mother’s Art Fest in Lawrenceville — Welby Gomez of World of Lucha Libre. 😳

And just like that, the day started reminding me that sometimes you need to show up differently.

Next came Mr. Washington — yes, Mr. Claus himself — my counterpart from Graves Elementary School in Norcross, where we played Santa and Mrs. Claus for the kids. 😳

Then I met Beverly from Paint with a Twist, downtown Lawrenceville, and her daughter Tiffany. Fun fact: I’ve been using Beverly’s very same spot for my XC Women’s meetings over the past few months. 😳

A few steps later, I ran into a fellow veteran who just earned his real estate license. We got to chatting, and before I knew it, I was spilling the tea on the EBV and IVMF veteran programs. Turns out — he recognized me from when I interviewed his wife, Pamela, on my talk show years ago! 😳

Then came Ashton — just 24 years old, a talented seamstress with an old soul and serious stitching skills. I immediately saw a few “seamstress-made shindigs” in my future. 😳

And finally, Randy Travis — not the country star, but a journalist-turned-community-advocate now running for Lawrenceville City Council. Another “small world” moment that left me smiling. 😳

Sure, sales were dismal that day. But the connections? Absolutely priceless.

Sometimes, the blessings come in conversations — not transactions.

So here’s your gentle nudge from me:

💫 Step outside your comfort zone.

Show up somewhere new.

Talk to strangers.

Let yourself be surprised by what (and who) you attract when you do.

Because growth doesn’t always happen in your usual spaces — sometimes it’s waiting for you at an art fest, in a random conversation, or in a “not-so-great” sales day that turns into an unforgettable one.

Sometimes it's about the person who needs us for a moment, like my Kroger parking lot prayer meeting.
