Unity in the Community – Impacting Lives is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in January 2025 by Mary Tate in Walton County, Georgia.

The organization began after Mary saw a growing number of homeless individuals living in tents near the Walmart parking lot, with no warming shelters available. What started with delivering blankets, scarves, gloves, and hot meals quickly grew into a mission of compassion and action.

Today, Unity in the Community partners with local resources to provide rent assistance, food, and support for families in crisis — including residents of Whits Inn and struggling single mothers. The organization’s mission is simple but powerful: to offer Hope, Help, and Healing to the used, abused, and abandoned.
